How often do people interact with artificial intelligence, or AI, every day? It’s more common than many might think. In the United States, about 27% of Americans use AI almost constantly or several times a day. Another 28% interact with it once a day or a few times a week. That means over 55% of U.S. adults are regularly engaging with AI in some way. It’s clear that AI isn’t just a future idea—it’s already part of daily life for millions.
AI shows up in tools people use without even noticing. Think of Siri or Alexa helping with questions or setting reminders. Streaming platforms like Netflix use AI to suggest shows or movies. Around 61% of people use virtual assistants outside of work. Also, nearly half of users enjoy algorithmic playlist recommendations on apps like Spotify. At home, wearable fitness devices track steps or heart rates with AI. It’s woven into everyday gadgets and apps. Daily use of email spam filters, a common AI application, is reported by 29.5% of respondents.
AI is everywhere, from Siri and Alexa to Netflix suggestions and Spotify playlists, seamlessly embedded in daily gadgets and apps.
At work, AI is just as common. Email spam filters are the most used AI tool in workplaces. In customer service roles, 62.2% of workers rely on chatbots to handle tasks. Notably, AI use is slightly more frequent at home than at work, but daily use at work still sits at 10.6%. People with higher education and income levels tend to interact with AI more often. They’re also more aware of how AI works. Additionally, nearly 40% of U.S. adults aged 18-64 have used generative AI. AI also enhances security through features like facial recognition technology on smartphones, making daily interactions safer and more seamless.
Globally, AI’s reach is massive. The AI market is worth $391 billion as of 2025. The U.S. leads in adoption, followed by China and the UK. However, not every country keeps up. Emerging markets lag behind developed ones in using AI. Investment in AI is huge, especially in the U.S., which tops the charts in machine learning and innovation. About 180.5 million people worldwide are part of AI’s user base as of August 2023.
AI’s growth isn’t slowing down. Since 2023, the market has expanded fast. Around 40% of U.S. adults aged 18-64 have tried generative AI. It’s becoming harder to spot where AI isn’t involved. From personal assistants to workplace tools, AI is quietly shaping how the world works.
